In 1967 from March 5 to March 7 a late winter storm brought moderate to heavy snowfall to parts of southern Missouri, much of western Arkansas, and portions of eastern Oklahoma. In Missouri, most of the southern region received between 1 and 3 inches of snow, with some isolated areas seeing higher amounts, particularly near the Arkansas border. The cities of Joplin and Rolla recorded around two inches, while Springfield and St. Louis saw one inch each. In far eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas, snowfall totals generally ranged from 3 to 6 inches, with some isolated areas receiving slightly higher amounts. In Oklahoma, Sallisaw, Tahlequah, and Webbers Falls recorded between 5 and 6 inches, while Tulsa received an inch. In Arkansas, Fayetteville saw 5 inches of snow, and Fort Smith recorded 4 inches.
