January 2019 Winter Storm Brought Heavy Snow and Ice

Beginning Friday, January 11–12, 2019, a winter storm affected the Missouri Ozarks region. Heavy snowfall occurred across mainly central Missouri, with up to nine inches in some locations. Snowfall amounts tapered off the farther south you traveled, from moderate totals to little or none. This same winter storm also brought freezing rain, causing damaging ice accumulations as thick as 0.50 inches. Numerous power outages and widespread tree damage resulted.
